Florida Georgia Line

Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island was a great stop. We walked downtown, scooted around the island and visited the Fort Clinch State Park where we toured the Fort - which was built in the mid-1800’s. From there we headed to Jekyll Island in Georgia. Jekyll is a 5,500 acre island that is home to 10 miles of beach shoreline and a bike trail that circles the island. We scooted to the infamous Driftwood Beach, which was beautiful, and had a late lunch at Tortuga Jacks. We really liked Jekyll for its nice bike trail, long beaches to walk and its relaxed way of life…..hope to get back there someday! Heading north through Georgia provided some interesting boating…we saw a lot of grassy marshes, went through some shallow waters so we were happy to have a 4 foot tide to help, and tidal swings were 8 feet so we really had to pay attention. We stopped at Isle of Hope Marina near Savannah for a night. John rented a car to drive back to Jacksonville to pick up a boat part that arrived earlier than expected….we were very happy about that. Stay tuned for South Carolina soon!!!!

Moonshadow II is right in the middle - 6th one from each end. Either that or you converted it to a tug and it's on the nearside end.

Really enjoyed seeing you. So glad you could make time to see us.

PS The oak tree in Hilton Head harbor is called the Liberty Oak.
