Alabama Gulf Coast

rlehardt

We arrived at The Wharf Marina last Sunday……it’s a vacation spot! Lots of shops and restaurants and very nice facilities. The next day we headed to Orange Beach Marina for six nights. It’s really tucked in off the intercoastal. Some absolutely beautiful deep sea fishing boats there (we’re talking $4m+, our brother Paul needs a boat like that!). Our spot in the marina was very convenient to laundry and the restroom so that made things very easy. We spent time cleaning and waxing the boat and trying to keep the salt off of it!!! That will be an ongoing job for John for the next several months….LOL! We rented a car and were able to drive to restaurants and grocery stores…..which is a luxury I am finding out! We also spent Thanksgiving Eve at The Perdido Beach Resort which was a special treat I (Robin) planned!!! We were able to walk on the beach, take a hot tub and a nice long shower! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day Brunch there as well….I didn’t have to cook. But, I told the family I’m cooking next year for sure… haven’t cooked for 2 years. Later in the week we enjoyed docktails with some fun loopers, went to LuLu’s twice (which is owned by Jimmy Buffet’s sister), and played euchre and wizard with some fellow loopers. It was a very fun and relaxing week. We are now in Florida and will be traveling the Panhandle to Carrabelle this week in anticipation of the Gulf crossing. We will continue to monitor the weather to determine the best time to make the crossing. Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We are very thankful and blessed that we are able to make this trip and thank God everyday for this opportunity.
